My last Hurrah? After 42 years – of doltish dithering. For the background pattern I’m using a tube of Windsor Blue left by Tracy Comins – as she went on safari – never to return. All my other paintings have ultramarine – known as Royal Blue, 100% cyan +100% magenta, in your photolithography. The fruit came from posters printed by Image Graphics promoting New Zealand exports in the 1970s – I have a folder full of these. The WWII New Zealand troops trudging smiling after El Alamein, or some such action – I needed a mass of moving bodies and this was the best one I could find.
